THE FULBRIGHT-UC DAVIS CHAIR
The Fulbright UC-Davis Chair recognizes faculty members and researchers who have an established record of teaching and exhibit the potential to make significant contributions to the body of research on their themes of expertise, which are critical to contemporary societies around the globe. The University of California, Davis, looks to enable global and societal impacts through innovation, creativity, and discoveries. In supporting these missions, the Fulbright Commission and the University of California, Davis are opening the following call for applications.
The Program is intended to strengthen collaborations in both research and teaching between Chilean institutions and UC Davis. Candidates for the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program shall submit a detailed proposal for contributing to teaching and research, in any discipline, to be accomplished during either the fall 2020 term, winter 2021 term, or the spring 2021 term. All proposals should also include the titles and brief outlines of one/two public lectures that the candidate will deliver while in residence at UC Davis.
The Program will give one award for a Chilean scholar to spend one academic term lecturing and performing research at UC Davis.
The grant will be awarded for a stay compatible with an academic term in accordance with the UC Davis academic quarters (Fall 2020: end of September – December; Winter 2021: January – March; or Spring 2021: April – June).
Teaching proposals should include a detailed outline of how the Fulbright Chair will contribute to teaching through collaborations, seminars and/or workshops on the UC Davis campus.
Research proposals should include a detailed research plan, including timeline, expected resource needs, proposed research site or laboratory, and proposed affiliation.
